Steve is owner of Summer Isles Engineering which provides services and manufactures products for the wind power industry. Steve’s experience in wind power and related renewable technologies stretches back over an impressive 30 years. He has worked on wind farm sites all over the UK and Ireland, and overseas from Sweden to South Africa – his practical technical expertise is a great asset for CWP. Steve is also a director of Coigach Community Development Company.
Ann originally qualified as a primary teacher but has worked in social care in the public sector for twenty two years before retiring in late 2011. She has held the post of Secretary for Coigach Community Council for several years and has been involved with plans for a community wind turbine since the idea was first mooted many years ago. Ann is also a director of Coigach Community Development Company.
Originally qualified as a veterinary surgeon, Iain mostly now works as a consultant in business development and marketing for commercial and community organisations throughout the Highlands and Islands. Having held many public positions in the past (including SNH North Areas Board member; North West Highlands Geopark chair; Coigach Community Council vice-chair), Iain now chairs Coigach Community Development Company.
Fraser Mackenzie was most recently Head of Policy and Communication for West Coast Energy, part of French Multinational GDF Suez and is based in Inverness. A chartered town planner, Fraser has worked in renewable energy for ten years primarily as project director on various large scale commercial wind farm projects. Prior to this Fraser worked in the development of telecommunication networks throughout the UK and as planning advisor with Scottish Natural Heritage. Fraser lives in Cromarty on the Black Isle and has a home in Achiltibuie where his family roots are.
Alison is a professionally qualified mechanical engineer and works in engineering consultancy throughout the Highalnds and Islands. Alison has also worked with community organisations developing social enterprise initiatives; until recently she held the post of development officer with CCDC for the former Summer Isles Foods smokehouse, now a community asset owned by CCDC; prior to that Alison was the Powerdown Officer for Lochbroom, promoting and developing community renewable energy schemes.
